C. Turner Joy Elementary School, ages 5 - 12 years old, is a small elementary school situated in the southern most part of South Korea in a city called Chinhae. On the map, we are southwest of the large city of Pusan. The surrounding area is beautiful, as the school overlooks a protected bay on the Sea of Japan. Climate is mild with short winters and long hot summers and plenty of sunshine. We offer multi-age classes and due to the low enrollment, we enjoy a pupil teacher ratio of approximately 10 to 1.
The city of Chinhae is noted for its annual Spring Cherry Blossom Festival, where people from all over the world come to visit and enjoy the local festivities.
Our small elementary school of 30 students is very international, as we have over eight different countries represented.
